‘She Rises to the Occasion’ — Flau’Jae Johnson Continues Upping Her Game

Flau’Jae Johnson once again proved why she is one of the most electrifying players in college basketball. She led the No. 7 LSU Tigers to a commanding 79-63 victory over Georgia on Thursday night. The athlete delivered a standout performance with 21 points.

Flau’Jae Johnson Dominates on the Court and Faces Defeat off It

Meanwhile, Johnson’s impact extends far beyond the court as her performances continue to draw widespread recognition. A video shared by Flaujae #1 Fanpage (“The Flauk”) captured a moment from the SEC Network broadcast. That’s where commentators Dave Neal and Jon Sundvold discussed her influence on the game.

They referenced LSU’s recent 86-101 loss to Oklahoma. They highlighted Johnson’s consistency and ability to deliver in high-pressure situations.

“She’s a star on the court. Tell us more about Flau-Jae. Well, Flau-Jae Johnson, you can’t say enough about this young lady and what she has been able to do. Every single year, we have seen her elevate her game, coming off of a great 22-point performance and a 16-point performance in the loss against Oklahoma, but she rises to the occasion.”

“So when one player goes down, you know Flau-Jae will be ready with a light go. She will be ready and on the floor, ready to roll,” she also said. “But on the flip side, when you look at what Flau’Jae brings to the game, 19.5 points per game, fifth in the SEC, shooting the ball really well. What I love about her, though, she always makes sure that she finds her teammates and gets them.”

Among her highlights were three deep three-pointers, including an incredible shot from nearly 40 feet away. Her ability to step up in crucial moments solidified her importance to the Tigers as they continued their pursuit of dominance in the SEC.

Flau’Jae Johnson Loses Lighthearted Bet With Boyfriend

While Johnson continues to shine in basketball, she recently had to concede defeat in a friendly bet with her boyfriend, Hilton Jr.

The playful wager revolved around their themed photoshoots and which one would gain more attention on social media. Their disagreement stemmed from their beliefs about which aesthetic—Christmas or LSU pride—would generate higher engagement from fans.

In December 2024, the couple released their first set of pictures, embracing a cozy Christmas theme. The photos showcased them in matching red pajamas against a festive holiday backdrop. This marked their official social media debut as a couple, and Johnson was convinced that the holiday spirit would attract the most attention.

However, their Valentine’s Day release featured an LSU-themed shoot, with both sporting LSU jerseys and posing against a dramatic black backdrop. One of the images paid tribute to the classic early 2000s film Love & Basketball, adding an extra layer of significance to the theme.

In the end, Hilton Jr.’s prediction proved accurate. Their LSU-themed pictures garnered nearly 500,000 likes, surpassing the Christmas post, which trailed behind at approximately 400,000 likes.

“He was right!” Johnson said, acknowledging her defeat on the “Best of Both Worlds” podcast.

Though she lost the bet, Johnson remains focused on leading LSU to greater success, proving that her competitive spirit extends beyond just basketball.
