Four-time NBA champion Shaquille O’Neal recently showed support for Chicago Sky star Angel Reese. On July 10, former NFL player Ryan Clark posted a video on his Instagram account, wherein he called out former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III, or RGIII, for making claims about Reese without basis. O’Neal shared Clark’s video on his Instagram story.
Griffin had written a long message on X/Twitter to denounce a graphic, apparently made by an X user, of Reese’s recently-revealed NBA 2K26 game cover. The said graphic attempted to poke fun at former LSU Tigers player Reese by portraying her as a monkey. However, the majority of fans and players were not convinced by Griffin’s words.
In his video, Ryan Clark opined that Griffin prioritized the gain of talking about Reese.
“RGIII has a strange fascination with Angel Reese, or a connection to that spotlight it brings him… but this one was easy,” Clark said. “He posted a graphic I didn’t see anywhere else of Angel as a Monkey. Just say, “That’s wrong!” He couldn’t.”

In his X post, Griffin also claimed that Reese hated Caitlin Clark.
This prompted O’Neal, who has a net worth of $500 million (as per Celebrity Net Worth), to repost Ryan Clark’s video on his Instagram stories.
Angel Reese responded to Griffin’s post on X, writing:
“Lying on this app when everybody know the first and last name of everybody in my circle for clout is nastyyyy work.”
Shaquille O’Neal Issues Warning to RGIII Regarding Angel Reese
In a video posted by X user @hoIysaintwest on Tuesday, Shaquille O’Neal went off the rails as he called out Robert Griffin III during the “Off the Record” podcast.
In reference to RGIII targeting Angel Reese recently, O’Neal said:
“Speaking of RGIII, tweet another monkey post about my girl Angel Reese and I’m going to punch you in your f**king face, ‘kay? It’s enough, like I don’t usually do stuff like this, but stop it, bro. You got your job, you got your podcast, leave my Angel Reese alone. I’m the one calling her, telling her not to respond, f**king stop it. That’s the last time, ‘kay, thank you.”
My mom had a chance to instruct the Celtics for a few years and she said Shaq was a super respectful guy when he was on the team.
Regardless of whether your team CC or Angel, I’m just really glad to see a male superstar defend a player from RG3’s antics. pic.twitter.com/kXp7N8Pp5a

Reese is in her second year in the WNBA with coach Tyler Marsh’s Chicago Sky. The team has a 7-14 record so far, good for 10th place in the Eastern Conference.
