UConn Standout Sarah Strong Makes Feelings Known On Mom, Allison Feaster’s WNBA Legacy

UConn Huskies forward Sarah Strong had a success-filled rookie year in the recently-concluded 2024-25 season. Behind all of her success is her mother, Allison Feaster, who is a former WNBA All-Star and is currently the Vice President of Team Operations & Organizational Growth for the Boston Celtics.

In a recent interview on NBC Sports Boston’s “Hoopin'” show on YouTube on Saturday, July 19, Strong gave her overall thoughts on the legacy her mother has made both as a player in the WNBA and now as a team official for one of the most successful NBA teams of all time.

“I mean, yeah, it’s just great to see that my mom is like up there and doing that type of stuff. I’m super proud of her but, it just reminds me to work hard every day and just, I don’t know, hopefully I can, well I don’t want to do that, but like hopefully I can inspire other children and people,” Strong explained. When Strong was then asked about what exactly she remembers about her mother in Feaster during her professional basketball games, she had a brief and notable statement.

“I don’t know, I just remember her doing a lot of threes and long socks…You would do this, you would scrunch your shorts,” Strong shared. (1:58)

Strong is coming off of a 2024-25 season in which she won her first national championship with the Huskies after they defeated the 2024 defending national champions, South Carolina Gamecocks, by 23 points, 82-59, and finished with an overall record of 37-3 (18-0, Big East).

Allison Feaster Talked About When The 2024-25 UConn Huskies Were Celebrated In The TD Garden

Back in April of 2025, just a couple of weeks after their NCAA championship berth, Sarah Strong and the UConn Huskies were invited by the Boston Celtics to be commemorated during game two of their first-round series of the 2025 NBA Playoffs against the Orlando Magic. It was a special moment for Allison Feaster, who works for the Celtics, to see her daughter being an NCAA champion at UConn.

“Well, the TD Garden is a special place for any basketball fan and specifically, you know, the Boston fans who are the best in the world and to have, you know, two great organizations coincide and you know, we’re saluting my daughter’s team like that is, it was the ultimate sensation of gratitude. You know, we won in 2024 and here we are, less than a year later, and they’re crowned champions. It was just an unreal moment,” Feaster said. (9:20)

Feaster will now continue serving as the Vice President of Team Operations & Organizational Growth for coach Joe Mazzulla’s Celtics in the 2025-26 season while her daughter, Sarah Strong, aims to win back-to-back national championships in her sophomore year with coach Geno Auriemma.
