Ranking Paige Bueckers’ Top 5 UConn Teammates Throughout Her Career

    1. G Azzi Fudd

Azzi Fudd’s connection with Bueckers goes back a long way. They fought for the same guard spot in high school and USA Basketball camps. At UConn, starting in 2021, Fudd’s deadly shooting paired perfectly with Bueckers’ playmaking. Injuries, like an ACL tear in 2023-24, slowed her down, but when healthy, she’s a game-changer.

This season, they both earned All-Big East First Team nods. Coach Geno Auriemma raves about their chemistry, saying they “feed off each other” like few others.

    2. F Sarah Strong

Sarah Strong burst onto the scene this season as a freshman forward. Ranked No. 1 in her class, she’s been a force. She leads UConn in rebounds at 8.4 per game, blocks at 1.6, and steals at 2.4. Scoring 16 points a game, she trails only Bueckers. Her 3.4 assists show her versatility.

Bueckers loves her game, saying, “She can catch and finish, pass, defend, score at all three levels.” Together, they dominate—UConn’s point differential soars by 45.2 per 100 possessions with them on the floor.

    3. F Aaliyah Edwards

Aaliyah Edwards teamed up with Bueckers from 2020 to 2024. Her rebounding and scoring opened up the floor for Bueckers.

In 2021-22, when Bueckers recovered from a knee injury, Edwards carried the load. That year, UConn reached the national title game. By her senior season, Edwards was an All-American.

    4. G Nika Mühl

Nika Mühl joined Bueckers in 2020 and stayed through 2024. This guard was all about hustle. Her defense locked down opponents.

She also set a UConn assist record, proving her playmaking prowess. In 2020-21, Mühl’s passing let Bueckers rack up points, pushing them to the Final Four. Bueckers calls her a “sister” and cherishes their bond.

    5. G Christyn Williams

Christyn Williams overlapped with Bueckers from 2020 to 2022. A former top recruit, she played guard with flair. Her scoring and speed stretched defenses thin. In Bueckers’ first game in 2020, she hit Williams for an early bucket.

That moment sparked their chemistry. Williams’ experience steadied Bueckers as a freshman. They reached the Final Four in 2021 and the title game in 2022.

These teammates have left their mark on Bueckers’ UConn career. Fudd and Strong shone in their later years with shooting and all-around play, while Edwards and Mühl brought toughness and support during rocky seasons.

Williams set the stage early on. Each has lifted Bueckers’ game in their own way. As she chases a national title in 2025, their contributions will keep her heart filled.
