Nika Mühl shared a warm moment with fans as she posted a sunset beach selfie alongside one of her closest friends and longtime Croatian teammate, Mihaela Lazić. The photo shows the two embracing on a quiet shoreline with sky glowing behind them.
Mühl captioned the post with a heartfelt message describing Lazić as her sister for life and wishing her the happiest birthday. The image reflects the deep bond the two have formed through years of playing together and growing up within Croatia’s basketball community.
Mühl has always been open about the people who help shape her journey, and this tribute highlights the relationships she values beyond the court.
“My sister for life,” Mühl wrote. “Happiest to you.”

Mühl built a decorated resume at UConn, where she became the program’s all-time assists leader and claimed two Big East Defensive Player of the Year honors. Mühl stepped into the WNBA as a second-round pick of the Seattle Storm.
Her transition to the pros was challenging at first, as limited minutes and a delayed work-permit process slowed her debut season. Even with the hurdles, she showed flashes of the defensive intensity and playmaking instincts that defined her college years.
Her professional path took an unexpected turn when she traveled overseas to play in Turkey during the offseason. In her first game with Beşiktaş, she suffered a devastating ACL and meniscus tear that halted her momentum and forced her into a long recovery.
The injury sidelined her for the 2025 WNBA season and shifted her focus toward rehabilitation. Despite the long road ahead, her confidence and support system remain strong.
Paige Bueckers Showed Her Support For Nika Mühl
Paige Bueckers has been one of Mühl’s closest teammates and friends since their time together at UConn, and she quickly stepped in with her support when the injury news broke. Bueckers spoke about checking in with Mühl before practice and making sure she knew she was surrounded by people who care about her.
Bueckers expressed full confidence in Mühl’s competitive personality, describing her as someone who attacks challenges without hesitation.
“Just talking to her and being there for her, I know that she has a great support system here. I know the journey ahead of her is not going to be easy, but if there’s anything I know about Nika it’s that she’ll crush it. She’ll just want to destroy the entire rehab and the coming back process, whatever that looks like,” Bueckers SAID.
Her message underscored the respect she has for Mühl’s toughness and her belief that the guard will return stronger than before.
