NC State sophomore guard Laci Steele has already received interest in the transfer portal from several major teams, her agent Amber Mathurin told On3’s Talia Goodman.
Steele announced her entrance to the portal Monday after two seasons with the Wolfpack, during which she averaged 2.7 points and 9.7 minutes in 55 games. Goodman reports that Kansas State, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Arkansas, and Missouri are among the teams that have contacted Steele.

Goode said the full list of teams who’ve reached out to Steele includes the Big 12’s Kansas State, Texas Tech, and Arizona; the Big Ten’s Minnesota, Wisconsin, Purdue, and Illinois; and the SEC’s Arkansas and Missouri. Bradley, Tulsa, Montana State, and South Dakota are among the mid-majors in play for the guard.

Steele, who was expected to be a three-point specialist, shot just 33.3% from the field and 31.2% beyond the arc in two seasons in Raleigh, North Carolina.
The Oklahoma native’s top choices out of high school were Northwestern, Texas A&M, Georgia Tech, and USC before eventually committing to the Wolfpack. She had more than twenty offers as a top-60 recruit.
This year, Steele found time off the bench, scoring a season-high seven points against Kent State in November. She played a season-high 22 minutes in the team’s blowout win over Old Dominion.

In the NCAA Tournament, Steele saw playing time in the first two rounds with blowout wins against Vermont and Michigan State. She scored one point in the second round against the Spartans.
Last year, Steele averaged more minutes for the Wolfpack — 11.8 per game — hitting double-digits three times, including a career-high 13 points, including three from beyond the arc against Virginia. She saw four minutes of playing time in the Wolfpack’s blowout loss to South Carolina in the Final Four.
