Thanks to former South Carolina teammates MiLaysia Fulwiley and Joyce Edwards, Team USA women’s squad was able to crush Cayman Islands women’s team 22-2 in Monday’s Pool A game of FIBA 3×3 Youth Nations League 2025.
Edwards scored a game-high six points, all from one-point range. Fulwiley added four points of her own, including a two-point shot. At one point in the game, both worked together to create and score on a nice jumper.

TCU’s Taylor Bigby also had game-high 6 points, while WNBA free agent Serena Sundell added six as well, going 5-of-5 from the one-point line and converting the game’s lone free throw.
Team USA shot an impressive 17-of-20 on one-point field goals, 2-of-4 from two-point range and hit one free throw, totaling 22 points in a game that ended early due to the 21-point margin rule.
On the defensive end, Team USA was equally dominant. The Cayman Islands were held to just 2 points total, both scored by Annika Shania Moore. The remaining Cayman players, Bethany Ebanks, Lyandrea Watson and Jamie Rankin-Maize were held scoreless.
This game was part of the opening stop of the Americas 2 pool. Team USA is aiming to secure a berth in the 2025 FIBA U23 3×3 World Cup in China.
Former South Carolina Duo MiLaysia Fulwiley and Joyce Edwards Reunited for Team USA 3×3 Nations League
MiLaysia Fulwiley and Joyce Edwards were part of the South Carolina women’s basketball program under legendary coach Dawn Staley. Fulwiley arrived as a five-star guard from Columbia in 2023. She earned SEC Freshman All‑Conference honors and was named SEC Tournament MVP in the Gamecocks’ 2024 national title run.
Meanwhile, Edwards, a standout five-star recruit from Camden, S.C., joined in 2024. She earned Freshman All‑American, First‑Team All‑SEC and Gatorade National Player of the Year accolades.
The duo reunited on the international stage, representing Team USA in the FIBA 3×3 U23 Nations League Americas Conference. It is a six-day, multi-stop competition (July 21–27).
MiLaysia Fulwiley, who is now with LSU, earned a spot on the roster after standout performances at the USA Basketball 3×3 Nationals. She was named MVP there. On the other hand, Edwards, who is still with South Carolina, won the gold medal at the 2025 FIBA AmeriCup. She started all seven games and averaged 9.9 points and 5.6 rebounds.
In Pool A of 3×3 Nationals, Team USA has started 2-1. They lost against Team Canada but have registered victories against Cayman Islands and Argentina. With more games lined up, Fulwiley and Edwards are expected to remain central to Team USA’s push to collect crucial qualification points.
