Caitlin Clark’s Former Teammate Lucy Olsen Sends Heartfelt Note To Boyfriend Grayson Herr – “Miss You Already”

Caitlin Clark’s Iowa Lady Hawkeyes teammate, Lucy Olsen, seems to be missing her boyfriend, Trinity Tigers basketball player Grayson Herr. Olsen posted a picture alongside Herr to her Instagram story this Tuesday morning.

The photo shows the pair on Pennsylvania Avenue, right in front of the White House. She also added the following commentary:

“Can u pls come back i miss u already” Wrote Olsen

Olsen was picked by the Washington Mystics during the 2025 WNBA Draft. She was the 23rd overall pick of the draft, being selected in the second round of the event. Before transferring to Iowa in 2024, she played from 2021 and 2024 with Villanova.

During her college career, she earned First Team All-Big Ten (2025) and All-Big East (2024) honors. She was also once a Second Team All-Big East selection (2023) and was the Big East Most Improved Player in 2024.

So far in the 2025 WNBA season, she has averaged 3.5 points, 1.0 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per game. She has appeared in 22 games for the Mystics. The high point of her year so far was a 19-point scoring streak against the Minnesota Lynx in early July.

Lucy Olsen is set to play in Australia’s Women’s National Basketball League during the offseason

Olsen knows that the amount of time she has managed to play during the WNBA season has been limited at best, which is why the Mystics star decided to play over the summer in Australia’s Women’s National Basketball League for the Townsville Fire.

“We’re really excited to add Lucy to our team. She’s a skilled, versatile guard who can score at all three levels and has excellent vision to create for others.

“What really stood out to me was her character. Everyone I spoke to had nothing but great things to say about her work ethic and the kind of teammate she is. Lucy ticks a lot of boxes for us on and off the floor, and I know she will come in ready to work hard and contribute to our team’s success,” Fire coach Shannan Seebobm said of Olsen joining the team.

The announcement was made last week. It isn’t uncommon in the WNBA or other major American sports leagues for players to join overseas leagues during the offseason in search of playing time and financial incentives. MLB players routinely play in the Caribbean Winter Leagues of Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and Venezuela.
