Last-Tear Poa expressed her excitement after three LSU women’s basketball players were named to the 2025 All-SEC First Team. Flau’jae Johnson, Aneesah Morrow, and Mikaylah Williams made the list, marking the first time three Tigers players would be named in the SEC first team in the program’s history.

LSU Players Celebrate Historic Feat on Instagram
LSU took to Instagram to celebrate the historic feat on Tuesday.
“FIRST TEAM IN PROGRAM HISTORY WITH THREE FIRST TEAM ALL-SEC PLAYERS,” the LSU women’s basketball account said in the post.

Poa joined other hoop players, fans, and experts to hype the Tigers for their latest achievement.
“I know that’s right!!” Poa wrote.
LSU is the only team in the SEC with multiple First-Team All-SEC players this season. The big three combined for 54.6 average points per game this season. Johnson rose from being the 2023 SEC Freshman of the Year to 2024 Second Team All-SEC and 2025 First Team All-SEC, leading the Trojans in scoring with 18.9 points.
Morrow leads the country in rebounding, with 420 total rebounds and an average of 14 per game, and double-doubles with 26. She also surpassed a career milestone of 2,500 career points, becoming one of two players in NCAA DI history to secure 100 career double-doubles.
As for Williams, she averaged 17.5 points per game this season to earn the First Team All-SEC in her sophomore season.
Flau’jae Johnson Named a Top Five Finalist in Naismith Award
Johnson earned a top-five finalist list for the Naismith Hall of Fame’s Ann Meyers Drysdale Award. The award recognizes the nation’s top shooting guard.
Johnson earned the nomination after leading the Tigers this season with 18.9 points per game. She also started the season with at least 20 points in five of LSU’s first six games and has 15 total games with 20-plus points this season as well.

“Johnson has five double-doubles this season and has four games with 25 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists,” LSU website wrote. “Defensively, Johnson has constantly been tasked with guarding the opposing team’s top perimeter player. In LSU’s win over Mississippi State, Johnson tied her career-high with 4 blocks.”
Other finalists for the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award include Ta’Niya Latson (Florida State), Hannah Hidalgo (Notre Dame), JuJu Watkins (USC), and Mikayla Blakes (Vanderbilt).
Meanwhile, Johnson remains sidelined from the court after suffering an inflammation in the shin. LSU head coach Kim Mulkey revealed that the junior guard will not play in next week’s SEC tournament.
