Recently, the Georgia native took to Instagram to reflect on her journey as a musician, including her life-changing experience on America’s Got Talent (AGT) at age 14.

Johnson continued, “I didn’t take that as hate, I took it as fuel. I knew I had it in me, just had to grow into it. Every verse, every setback, every stage made me sharper. I ain’t new to this, I been putting in work. ‘Not yet’ just meant my time was coming. And now? I’m here. Can You Hear Me Now?”

At 14, she auditioned for AGT Season 13 in 2018 with her original song “Guns Down.” This song was about gun violence, inspired by the loss of her father, local Savannah music legend Camoflauge. The performance earned her unanimous “Yes” votes from judges Howie Mandel, Mel B, Heidi Klum, and Simon Cowell.

In the Judge Cuts round, her original track “I Can’t Lose” secured a Golden Buzzer from guest judge Chris Hardwick, sending her straight to the Quarterfinals. However, she was eliminated in the Quarterfinals and later in the Preliminaries of AGT: All-Stars.

Her AGT journey gave her the national stage to share her musical talent as well as her personal story.

In 2024 Johnson collaborated with Lil Wayne on “Came Out a Beast.” Signed to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation in 2020, she has released three albums: 4 My Fans (2023), Best of Both Worlds (2024), and Flau & B (2025), her first R&B project.

She credits her mother, Kia Brooks, for guiding her career. Johnson’s recent single “OTW” and an unreleased track teased on May 28, 2025, captioned “Probably needed a hug 🫂. I wrote this instead,” is a hint that she has no plans of backing down from her musical career.

On the court, Johnson is just as aggressive. In addition to helping her LSU Tigers secure a national championship in 2023, individually, she was awarded First-Team All-SEC last season, Second-Team All-SEC the year before, and the overall SEC Freshman of the Year in 2023.
