LSU Tigers guard Flau’jae Johnson updated her fans and supporters that she went through a painful experience during the college basketball offseason. On Thursday, Aug. 7, Johnson posted on X/Twitter that she just had one of the most painful moments of her life, as several of her followers rushed to check in on her.
Before the post, Johnson shared that she was going to get her wisdom teeth removed. This is presumably what caused her the unbearable pain. Nevertheless, it can be inferred that Johnson went through with the surgery, given that the upcoming collegiate hoops campaign is still months away.
“Worst pain I ever felt in my life,” Johnson wrote on X.

In a prior tweet, Johnson revealed that she was having her wisdom teeth removed.
“Getting my wisdom teeth extracted today,” Johnson wrote with three crying emojis.

A quick Google search shows that wisdom teeth removal typically takes around one to two weeks to fully heal. This means that Johnson’s offseason preparations may be put on hold for her to recover. The Savannah, Georgia, native will get back into the swing of things as soon as possible as she looks on to her senior year of college basketball.
Johnson is coming off her junior stint of collegiate basketball with coach Kim Mulkey’s Tigers in the 2024-25 season, where they finished with an overall record of 31-6 (12-4 SEC). Their 2025 national championship hopes were put to rest when they were defeated by coach Cori Close’s UCLA Bruins by seven points, 72-65, in the Elite Eight of this year’s national tournament.

On Wednesday, Aug. 6, Johnson posted a black and white video of herself rapping her newest single entitled “Remember When” on her Instagram account. The track was released on June 6 this year on music platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music. Since then, Johnson has been actively marketing it to her audience while simultaneously fulfilling her duties as an incoming senior for the LSU Tigers.
Entering the 2025-26 campaign, Johnson will look to win her second national championship with coach Kim Mulkey’s squad, given that they won it all in 2023 during her freshman season with a 102-85 victory over the Iowa Hawkeyes.
