If one glances through Lucy Olsen’s Instagram page, it’s a little glimpse of her everyday life on and off the court. Some of the posts are updates from her basketball career playing college hoops and in the WNBA while others are glimpses of her life beyond the sport.

Lucy Olsen Has Potential To Replicate Her College Career in WNBA

Lucy Olsen was drafted 23rd overall by the Washington Mystics in the 2025 WNBA Draft. Olsen has played 19 games so far and is only averaging 3.7 points per game. However, this stat might change pretty soon, as she gets the hang of playing in the big leagues alongside fellow rookie stars Kiki Iriafen and Sonia Citron.

Olsen’s greatest assets are her basketball IQ, shot-making ability, and defensive pressure. As a guard capable of covering both ends of the floor, Olsen’s winning mentality is evident from how she led Team USA to win the gold medal in the 2023 3×3 U23 Nations League Final.

One of Lucy Olsen’s standout games came recently against the Minnesota Lynx on July 3. Olsen posted a career-high 19 points in the WNBA, going 7-for-10 from the field, 1-for-2 from deep, and 4-for-4 from the free-throw line, in 17 minutes coming off the bench.

Olsen recently signed for the WNBL team Townville Fire for the 2026 season of the Australian women’s basketball league. The 22-year-old is expected to make a solid impact from the get-go when she starts playing in the league in the next WNBA offseason.
