The South Carolina Gamecocks are back together once again for the training camp. Besides their preparation for the upcoming college basketball season, the ladies at South Carolina are up to some fun too. In a reel uploaded on the Gamecock WBB’s official Instagram handle, almost everyone had a certain allegation for Raven Johnson.
The reel asked the South Carolina players about one teammate they cannot look at in a serious moment. Almost everyone unanimously named Johnson, though Chloe Kitts and Tessa Johnson also found some mentions. Everyone thinks Raven’s goofy and silly personality gives away for it. And Adhel Tac even circled back to her name after naming two of her other teammates!
“Raven Johnson, Maddison McDaniel, Joyce Edwards. especially raven, i’m coming back to Raven. I cannot look at her,” Adhel said.
Even Maryam Dauda named Raven to fit into this category. Sighing with a grin on her face, she added:
“Raven. Because she just has that look on her face.”

When came Raven Johnson’s turn, her goofy personality was all out in display. She couldn’t stop shouting Chloe’s name, putting her into this list. Joyce Edwards and Maddy McDaniel also agreed that Raven is the perfect candidate to fit well into this category.
In a way, this reel displays how the Gamecocks are showing strong sense of chemistry, right from the training camp. South Carolina is soon set to face the North Carolina Tar Heels in an exhibition game, scheduled on Oct. 30 at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta.
Raven Johnson has reunited with her high school teammate in South Carolina
The South Carolina team had a new member coming in with Ta’Niya Latson transferring to the program. And the most interesting part? Latson and Raven Johnson used to be a dynamic duo back when they played high school hoops in the AAU together, winning three state titles.
The 5’8″ guard entered the transfer portal out of Florida State this year in March. On April, Latson announced her decision to join the Gamecocks. As per Yahoo Sports, she was more than elated to be reunited with Johnson.
“I got my point guard back,” Latson said.
The two seemed to have always clicked right. As of now, both of them are trying to build back their chemistry together in the training camp. Describing their chemistry together, Latson added:
“She knows my spots, I know her spots, and I know her confidence is getting back to where she needs to be, and also she’s given me that confidence, too, to be myself.”
Coming to South Carolina, Latson might have to adapt to a whole different system. With Dawn Staley packing her roster with a great number of offensive assets. But since she knows quite a few of the people in the team, there shouldn’t be any reasonable doubt for a typical transfer portal rust.
