One of Dawn Staley’s South Carolina Gamecocks stars has jetted off for a tropical escape during the offseason. On Monday, Bree Hall made waves far beyond the college basketball court with her outfit.
The Gamecocks guard shared a sun-kissed Instagram post from Ocho Rios, Jamaica. In the photos, she is seen wearing a red bikini and a floral hair accessory while posing against a serene seaside backdrop as the sun dips behind the clouds.

Dawn Staley Explores NBA Opportunity, but Gamecocks Remain Her Focus
Dawn Staley’s coaching brilliance has reportedly drawn interest from the NBA teams. The New York Knicks were reported to have reached out to the South Carolina head coach, potentially to fill their head coach position following Tom Thibodeau’s departure.
Staley’s record $25 million contract with South Carolina includes a clause that states that she can leave the Gamecocks anytime she wants if an opportunity arises from the NBA or the WNBA.
However, despite the interest, Staley remains committed to the Gamecocks. During a post-game interview in January, she said:
“I will never leave here to go take another college job. It’s nothing. Like, I have the best of the best here. And I really don’t have, um, any—like, I don’t have a passion for the next level. I don’t. I would’ve been gone. Like, seriously, like.”
In other news, Dawn Staley’s program took a major hit after South Carolina star Ashlyn Watkins announced that she will step away for the upcoming season, citing personal struggles and recovery from a torn ACL sustained in January.
Watkins played a pivotal role in South Carolina’s 2024 title run. Staley has voiced full support for Watkins’ decision and recovery. South Carolina will have to manage without her next season.
