Kentucky Women’s Basketball Transfer Portal: Latest Updates on Who’s In and Who’s Out

The Kentucky women’s basketball team suffered a second-round defeat to Kansas State in the 2025 NCAA tournament. Last year was head coach Kenny Brooks’ first year in charge, and as he prepares for his second year, he’s been introduced to a typical Kentucky transfer portal cycle.

The Kentucky Wildcats women’s basketball team saw a shakeup in March, as three players officially entered the transfer portal following the team’s second-round exit from the NCAA Tournament. Since then, Kenny Brooks has secured three commitments from the portal.

    Who’s Out At Kentucky?

    Clara Silva

6’7 international center from Portugal, Clara Silva, entered the portal with a “do not contact” tag, indicating she likely already has a destination in mind. She played in all 31 games for Kentucky this season, averaging 4.0 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks per game while shooting 56.5% from the field. She has three years of college eligibility left and has now committed to TCU.

    Saniah Tyler

Saniah Tyler is a junior guard who entered the portal shortly after Silva. Unlike Silva, Tyler wasn’t a starter and she averaged 2.3 points and 1.2 rebounds in a limited 12.3 minutes per game. She mainly added experience and depth to Brooks’ backcourt.

    Tanah Becker

The 6’1 freshman guard originally committed to Kentucky under former head coach Kyra Elzy but saw little playing time in her first season. Becker appeared in just four games, averaging 1.8 points per game.

    Who’s In At Kentucky

The three departures meant that Kenny Brooks had to enter the portal for replacements, and that’s what he’s done. This offseason, he added three players from the portal: Asia Boone, Tonie Morgan, and Josie Gilvin, making his second year as head coach easy.

    Asia Boone

Boone is a junior guard at Liberty University. Last season, she averaged 10 points, 3 rebounds, and one assist per game as Liberty won the Conference USA title.

“She has the ability to stretch the floor with her three-point shooting, and her basketball IQ is through the roof. As we continue to try and build a roster that can compete in the toughest conference in the country, Asia is a welcome addition,” said Brooks.

    Josie Gilvin

Gilvin was Brooks’ first portal commitment, and she came from Western Kentucky. The senior guard from Louisville spent the first three years of her career at WKU. She averaged 13.1 PPG, 6.3 RPG, 2.4 APG, and 2.6 SPG for the Hilltoppers last season.

“Josie will be a great addition, and with her ability to defend and shoot the three effectively, she will help our team compete for an SEC Championship,” Brooks said.

    Tonie Morgan

Morgan is a senior PG from Georgia Tech, where she played in almost 100 games and became a three-time all-conference talent. In the 24/25 season, she averaged 13 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game.
