Izzy Beselman Chimes in Flau’jae Johnson’s LSU Tribute With Four-Word Message

Flau’jae Johnson is poised to be the main star of the new LSU Tigers team, which will be looking to regain the level of play that won them the 2023 NCAA Championship title. The 21-year-old recently announced her decision to return for a fourth season under head coach Kim Mulkey.

    Flau’jae Johnson Heartfelt Message

The outcome from two years ago undoubtedly influenced Johnson’s decision to return to Baton Rouge. This was evident in her most recent Instagram post, where she has more than two million followers.

“Three years deep at LSU,” Johnson posted. “Remember when I walked in as a freshman, eyes wide but ready. Winning that national championship wasn’t just a moment it was proof that hard work pays off.”

“Every drill, every game, every setback pushed me further,” she added. “From shin injury to eye injury to elite eight. I’ll be back, we’ll be back – better than ever.”

Such a powerful message has generated more than 24,000 fan reactions. One of them was posted by Johnson’s teammate Izzy Besselman.

“Last one best one,” Besselman wrote, clearly referring to next season being the last for Johnson in college basketball.

As you may recall, the Lady Tigers captured their first-ever NCAA women’s basketball championship with a 102-85 victory over Iowa in the 2023 title game at American Airlines Center in Dallas.

The victory capped off a remarkable turnaround under second-year head coach Kim Mulkey, who became the first women’s basketball coach to win national titles at two different schools.

The title game will be remembered as one of the most electrifying performances in NCAA Tournament history:

    • LSU’s 102 points set a new championship game record
    • The Tigers hit a championship-record 11 three-pointers in the first half
    • Angel Reese dominated with 15 points, 15 rebounds and 3 blocks
    • Jasmine Carson unexpectedly scored 22 points, including 5 three-pointers.
    • The Tigers overcame a sensational 30-point performance from Iowa’s Caitlin Clark, using their superior size and depth to wear down the Hawkeyes in the second half.
