Kaitlyn Chen, an experienced guard and member of the UConn Huskies, has been a formidable force in women’s basketball at Princeton and UConn.
As a student at the University of Princeton, she played with the team for three seasons. Chen then graduated, entered the transfer portal, and played for the UConn Huskies during the 2024-25 season as a graduate student. Now that she has exhausted her eligibility, she is expected to enter the WNBA Draft.

In her three seasons at Princeton, she played 90 games and averaged 15.8 points, 4.9 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game. She ranks third all-time at Princeton in assists, with 359. She contributed to the Princeton Tigers’ run to the NCAA tournament three times while studying Anthropology simultaneously.
During the 2024-25 season with the UConn team, she averaged 7.1 points on 52.5 percent shooting from the floor, 1.8 rebounds, and 3.3 assists. She also started 38 games with the UConn Huskies.
Chen’s experience playing for both teams in over one hundred games in four years has made her an asset to any team. She was named Ivy League Player of the Year in 2023 and was a three-time Ivy League Tournament Most Outstanding Player.
Chen’s teammates and coaches have felt her impact as a team player. In fact, the Huskies’ coach has described her as irreplaceable. Besides the experience she has garnered, Chen has also proven to be a versatile guard.
Over the years, she has created numerous scoring opportunities for her teammates. Chen is athletic, has defensive instincts, and can protect the rim. She can also be described as an all-around player, excellent on both offense and defense.
