Iowa Hawkeyes forward Jada Gyamfi recently went nostalgic about her former and current teammates. On Monday, Aug. 4, Gyamfi posted a series of candid photos on TikTok of herself and her running mates, as they happily smile and even hug in several of them. Gyamfi added the song “Hold My Girl” by George Ezra to the social media post.
The carousel post on TikTok features her former teammates, such as Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark and Golden State Valkyries player Kate Martin. The series of heartfelt pictures also includes some of Gyamfi’s friends and her younger sister, Maya Gyamfi. Jada Gyamfi then encapsulated the upload with an emotional caption.
“Holding on so tight always 🩶,” Gyamfi captioned with a gray heart emoji.
The first photo of Gyamfi’s TikTok upload shows her taking a mirror selfie, wearing a light gray tank top, blue denim shorts, brown purse, and shades, along with the caption that reads, “Crowded town. Silent bed. Pick a place to rest your head.” Right after that, a snap of herself, Clark, Martin, and Mitchell is seen, as they take a group photo in chic outfits, all while embracing each other.
This trend continues in the next couple of photos, with Gyamfi taking candid flicks with Mitchell and Clark, one of which was when Clark returned to play a preseason game for the Fever at the Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Other photos show Gyamfi and some of her friends and sister, Maya, doing different outdoor activities. The final photo of the post shows Gyamfi embracing Martin during a team practice session.
Gyamfi just concluded her junior year of collegiate hoops with the Hawkeyes in the 2024-25 campaign. She now enters the 2025-26 season for her senior stint after averaging 1.7 points, 0.7 rebounds, and 0.4 assists in around 4.0 minutes in 11 games played last year.
Kate Martin and Gabbie Marshall commented on Jada Gyamfi’s heartfelt TikTok post
Apart from the several Iowa Hawkeyes faithful that rejoiced over Jada Gyamfi’s nostalgic TikTok post, Kate Martin and Gabbie Marshall dropped three-word reactions in the comments section. Both comments garnered several likes from users on TikTok, with Gyamfi herself liking it.
“You’re so cute,” Martin wrote.
“I love you,” Marshall followed up.

The 2024-25 Hawkeyes finished with an overall record of 23-11 (10-8 Big Ten). Coach Lisa Bluder’s squad went all the way to the second round of this year’s NCAA tournament, losing to the Oklahoma Sooners, 96-62.
