Harmoni Turner has made Ivy League history by becoming the first Harvard women’s basketball player in two decades to be named Ivy League Player of the Year.
This award, announced on March 11, 2025, recognizes Turner’s outstanding performance during the season.
Harmoni Turner’s Historic Season: Ivy League’s Best After Two Decades
Turner topped the Ivy League in conference play, scoring an impressive 21.9 points per game. Her overall stats were 6.1 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 2.2 steals per game, demonstrating her flexibility and leadership on the field.
Turner was unanimously named for First-Team All-Ivy, in addition to Player of the Year. Notably, she is the 17th player in Ivy League women’s basketball history to win both Rookie and Player of the Year titles, demonstrating her constant excellence.

Turner’s impact was strongest in the Ivy League Tournament quarterfinals versus Princeton, where she scored an incredible 44 points. This not only headed Harvard to a 70-67 victory, but it also broke the tournament record for best individual scoring.
Under Turner’s guidance, Harvard won its first Ivy League Tournament championship, advancing to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2007. In the championship game against Columbia, the Crimson won 74-71, marking the turning point for the program.
