“Does Change a Lot”: Analyst Predicts Geno Auriemma’s Massive Weapon in Latest Transfer Ahead of 2025 Season

As teams continue to make moves to strengthen their roster, Geno Auriemma’s UConn Huskies seem to have taken the lead. They have made some valuable additions for the season and have put themselves in a position where they now seem unbeatable.

One of the biggest additions for the year at the UConn camp has been Serah Williams. The 6’4″ forward played for Wisconsin from 2022 to 2025. She joined the Huskies in April this year.

As per Quita of “Quita Loves Sports” YouTube channel, Williams has the potential to be one of the biggest weapons in Auriemma’s arsenal. She said:

“Serah Williams, guys, is a rockstar player. She played at Wisconsin last year. She’s fantastic. I’m talking about 6’4″. Okay, I’m talking about close to 20 points a game for her.” (4:01)

The analyst claimed that Williams has shown how capable she is on the floor, averaging nearly a double-double last season. She is effective on both ends of the floor, which automatically makes her a desirable player for any coach.

“UConn is going to be a team to watch because Serah Williams does change a lot,” Quita added. “She really does change a lot for UConn. We thought UConn was really good this past year. I’m interested to see what continues to happen from here.”

With an abundance of talent on the roster, Quita wondered what Coach Geno Auriemma starting lineup will look like. The analyst said that there’ll be a lot to choose from and that’ll make their every move, right down to the starting lineup, exciting to watch.

But if any coach can manage a lot of talent, while giving all enough time to develop, it’s Auriemma.

Geno Auriemma revealed why he didn’t recruit Caitlin Clark

For decades, UConn has been on the dream list of every major talent that comes out of high school. Caitlin Clark was no different. She wanted to be a part of the UConn legacy and was willing to commit. However, they never contacted her or her family directly. The UConn camp only made contact with her AAU coach.

Coach Geno Auriemma, on the other hand, has a different perspective on it. During a conversation with CT Insider, he said that if Clark wanted to join UConn, she should’ve expressed her feelings.

“Caitlin is obviously a tremendous player, a generational player,” Auriemma said. “But if Caitlin really wanted to come to UConn she would have called me and said, ‘Coach I really want to come to UConn.’ Neither of us lost out.”

Geno Auriemma outlined that she made the best decision for herself, and Iowa turned out to be a brilliant program for her. As for his decision to recruit Paige Bueckers in 2020, Auriemma said that it worked out great for UConn as well.

Both players emerged as college basketball legends and were eventually drafted as number one picks in the WNBA.
