Azzi Fudd is one of the most famous college basketball players. With a national championship in the last season, the UConn Huskies’ star has also finally played an injury-free year. Despite her struggles and unavailability throughout her college career, Fudd has been a fan favorite. She is even nicknamed “People’s Princess.”
JuJu Watkins is another one of the players who has shown how superior her talent is. Unfortunately for her, USC and the rest of the basketball world, Watkins is set to miss the entirety of the 2025-26 season. However, after her freshman and sophomore years, she has showcased her tremendous talent. JuJu averages 25.5 points, 7 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game in her 2 years in college.
Among many other names, Azzi Fudd and JuJu Watkins are probably 2 of the most marketable names in women’s college basketball. Two superstars were recently included in an elite list consisting of some of the most marketable players. However, Flau’jae Johnon’s mother wasn’t happy with the list at all. She made sure to make that pretty evident.
Johnson’s mother, Kia Brooks, is also her manager and has guided the LSU star throughout her career. With her rapping career, different endorsements and on-court brilliance, Flau’jae has risen to a NIL value of $1.5 million. So, mother Kia Brooks was pretty upset not to see her daughter among the 10 most marketable women basketball players.
She commented, “The one who’s the actual top earning in the NIL market right now is not on this list is WILD!! Yeah this not real,” showing support for her daughter and disbelief about the exclusion.

List consisted of 6 players from Geno Auriemma’s UConn, 3 from Dawn Staley’s South Carolina, and 1 from Lindsay Gottlieb’s USC –
- Azzi Fudd – UConn

- JuJu Watkins –  USC

- KK Arnold – UConn

- Chloe Kitts – South Carolina

- Sarah Strong – UConn

- Jana El Alfy – UConn

- Raven Johnson – South Carolina

- Ice Brady – UConn

- Tessa Johnson – South Carolina

- Morgan Cheli – UConn

“Love my husky’s but big 4 [Flau’jae Johnson] gotta be on there! she’s one of the highest paid college female athletes,” one fan commented about LSU star’s exclusion.
“Heh? How do y’all even calculate that? Cuz I don’t see big 4,” another showed support to Flau’jae.
