Flau’jae Johnson is already thinking about next season after LSU was eliminated in the Elite Eight round with a 72-65 loss to UCLA. The 21-year-old guard has already started looking at the new players that will be joining the team next fall, and she apparently likes what she’s seeing.

Flau’jae Johnson ‘Can’t Wait’ for Her New Teammate To Arrive
Johnson reacted to a post on X featuring talented high school senior Bella Hines playing 1v1 against basketball YouTuber Duke Dennis. Hines, who was playing in shoes absolutely not meant for the sport, made several impressive plays against Dennis, including an excellent pick-and-pop.
“And she popping it. Can’t wait till she get on campus,” Johnson posted on X.

This friendly 1v1 between Hines and Dennis took place during the recent Jordan Brand Classic, where the high school player was part of the Flight team that ended up winning the event 128-108.
Hines shared the spotlight with other future stars such as Aaliyah Chavez, who was named the event’s MVP, and several of her future college teammates such as Divine Bourrage and Grace Knox. The opposing team (Air) was highlighted by the presence of Nyla Brooks, who scored a team-record 28 points.
Isabella ‘Bella’ Hines has committed to play for LSU starting next season. As she told Forbes, the presence of head coach Kim Mulkey was instrumental in her decision:
“I’ve loved Coach Kim Mulkey ever since she was at Baylor. I told my dad that wherever she went, I wanted to be there,” Hines said. “But even more than that, I just felt really at home there during my visit.
“Even my sister, who I am really close with, said that she could see me going there and seeing herself going there to visit me. That meant a lot coming from her.”

Hines is one of the most popular players of her generation, with 26,000 followers on Instagram. This trait, coupled with her exceptional talent, helped her land an NIL with Jordan Brand. She is currently the only high school player with such a contract with that particular brand.
She is currently ranked 32nd in ESPN’s 2025 HoopGurlz Recruiting Rankings.
