‘My Dawwwwwgggg’ – LSU Star Flau’jae Johnson Shows Love to Mikaylah Williams with Hilarious Message on Her Birthday

LSU Tigers guard Flau’jae Johnson showed love to one of her teammates on her birthday. On Tuesday, July 8, incoming junior Mikaylah Williams was celebrating her 20th birthday and with that, Johnson decided to greet her with a hilarious message on social media.

On her Instagram stories, Johnson reposted a photo of her and Williams from her previous Instagram dump post back on March 22. In the picture, both Johnson and Williams were in  a game as the former reached in for a high five to the trailing Williams. The-now senior then included a hilarious caption as a greeting towards Williams.

“Happy bday to the one and only, my dawwwwwgggg @mkwill12_ getting up there,” Johnson wrote with a plethora of emojis.

Both Johnson and Williams are currently in the college basketball offseason after coach Kim Mulkey’s Tigers were eliminated in the Elite Eight of the 2025 NCAA tournament by the UCLA Bruins through a seven-point defeat, 72-65. LSU was looking to return to the collegiate hoops mountaintop after Johnson and Co. won the program its first title in 2023. The 2024-25 Tigers ended up with an overall record of 31-6 (12-4, SEC).

Williams has yet to win a national title, just like Johnson, since she came in to the team the year after in the 2023-24 campaign. Nevertheless, her birthday celebration, wherein she got a funny public greeting from Johnson, serves as a testament to the growing camaraderie and chemistry between two of LSU’s spitfire scorers.

In the recently concluded season, Johnson and Williams were in the top three of LSU’s overall scoring averages, at second and third, respectively. Johnson tallied 18.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.7 steals per contest while Williams followed suit with her own standout averages of 17.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.1 steals a game. Current Connecticut Sun rookie Aneesah Morrow top scored for the team with 18.7 points a game.

Flau’jae Johnson And Mikaylah Williams Were Named To 2025 AP All-America Teams

With how they fared outstandingly in the 2024-25 season, both Flau’jae Johnson and Mikaylah Williams were named to respective AP All-America Teams earlier this year. Johnson was determined to be a member of the third team, while Williams was given an honorable mention. The LSU Tigers then rounded it out with Aneesah Morrow earning second team honors.

Coach Kim Mulkey’s squad now looks on to the 2025-26 college basketball season with the hopes of returning to their winning ways in both the SEC and in the NCAA tournament, with Williams playing out her third while Johnson might be rostered into the season for one last time.
