Indiana Fever star Sophie Cunningham launched her new podcast, “Show Me Something,” and on the very first episode, she slammed players who were hazing her teammate, Caitlin Clark. Soon enough, several analysts on ESPN have openly admitted that Clark has been a target of opponents who have often been rough against her.

For many of Clark’s fans, the hazing had been obvious, as the Fever superstar had been in and out of injury this season, as many of her interactions with opponents have turned very physical. This has prompted some fans to point out that this was the first time that WNBA-related media have admitted that there has been hazing directed at the WNBA All-Star, with one analyst agreeing with Cunningham’s sentiment.
“Lmao that’s a first they been trying to pretend it’s all unicorns and rainbows for almost 2 yrs,” one fan pointed out.
“Thank goodness they did I would not believe my own eyes unless they told me it was so.” another fan added.
“Carlin Clark is a great player – the WNBA needs to fix the issue.” one commenter noted.
However, there were also those who pointed out that Caitlin Clark is not the only WNBA player who received a lot of hazing from her opponents.
“So do you all not want the other women to compete? Just let her shoot? Let her win? Let her be the best just because her fans say she is the best? She already has one of the best coaches, and a great team around her, what else do you want? The complaining is annoying,” said one fan.
“And they are wrong. Everyone gets targeted if that’s the case. Just watch the f*cking games, and you’ll see,” replied another commenter.
“Keep playing CC the same way period until CC proves physical play does not affect her. People act like this MJ getting hammered by the Bad boy Pistons smh. A few shors unnecessary but Mostly just teams being extremely legally physical with CC & it’s been proven to work.” another person said.
What Sophie Cunningham Said About Caitlin Clark During Her Podcast’s Premier Episode
As for what sparked this conversation, Sophie Cunningham has been very vocal on her support of Caitlin Clark and pointed out that she was being unfairly targeted.
“You have seen players in our league try and toughen up Caitlin,” she said. “Even when I wasn’t on her team, I know the talks that Phoenix had in the locker room. ‘We’re going to show her what the W really is.'”
“Every rookie coming into the league, that’s how you’re going to treat them,” she added. “But there’s just more for her. It’s her second year. Now, being on her team and seeing it, what are people doing? It’s just too much.”

Cunningham played for the Phoenix Mercury last year before coming to Indiana. She noted that she understands why this is happening, but only to some extent, especially now that Clark is already in her sophomore year.
