NBA superstar Steph Curry has been a very big supporter of the WNBA, from his interactions with the players to his three-point contest showdown against Sabrina Ionescu, a game where the New York Liberty star almost beat him. During the Golden State Valkyries vs. LA Sparks game on Saturday, he and his wife, Ayesha, made their presence felt as they cheered for the Valkyries in San Francisco.

The couple were acknowledged on the jumbotron as fans cheered for the Golden State legend and his wife, who is a chef. The Valkyries are the sister team to Steph Curry’s Golden State Warriors, which he led to four NBA titles. They share the same home court too, which is the Chase Center. Their appearance has gotten fans talking:
“Supporting cam brink*,” said one fan.
“Can we deck these folks out in some violet pleez💜🖤,” asked one Valkyries fan.
“And he’s not Courtside he’s def coming to support,” another fan pointed out.

“He’s there to support Cam,” noted one person.
“Steph throwin a green light saber foooo shoooooo,” one fan joked.
His appearance against their cross-state rivals was a fulfillment of a promise he had previously, to show up and support the Valkyries. His appearance was made more special as the Chase Center was sold out during that game and fans praising him for not sitting courtside and with the fans.
As the comments suggested, he was also there for former Stanford star Cameron Brink, who made her return from injury earlier this season. Brink had formed a close friendship with Steph and Ayesha off the court.

The Golden State Valkyries ended up winning the game, 72-59, and going up to a 15-15 record in the WNBA. Meanwhile, their win also meant that the LA Sparks’ three-game winning streak has now ended, with the team now falling to a 14-16 record. This also snapped the Valkyries’ two-game losing streak as they return to the .500 club.
