Flau’jae Johnson has already cemented herself as one of the best women’s basketball players in the country. After helping lead LSU to its first-ever national championship in her freshman season and winning SEC Freshman of the Year.
Johnson followed it up with a Second Team All-SEC performance her sophomore year, improving averages in every statistical category except rebounds. This year, she’s made another jump, leading LSU in points and receiving First Team All-SEC honors, and may be looking toward the upcoming WNBA draft.

Fans React to Flau’jae Johnson Possibly Declaring for the 2025 WNBA Draft
Fans on Reddit discussed the possibility of Johnson entering the draft after this year, with one fan, u/Jack12404, citing an old podcast in which Johnson said she would declare early if LSU won the championship.
“Flau’jae entering the draft would be fire,” u/Caedyn_Khan wrote. “I currently have both Paige and Miles over Flau’jae but it’s not by much. Flau’jae is more athletic and a better shot creator.”
With UConn’s Paige Bueckers almost certainly going No. 1 overall, WNBA fans have their eyes set on the second pick. Los Angeles Sparks fan u/LLUrDadsFave speculated the team could opt for Johnson over USC’s Kiki Iriafen.
Other users agreed Johnson could be an incredible fit for the Sparks in Los Angeles.
“Her in LA would be fire — a perfect way to promote her music career, and her linking up with Cam[eron Brink] and Rickea [Jackson] would be really fun,” u/EmFly15 wrote. “It doesn’t solve the issue of PG, but the Sparks’ guard play is nonexistent, so even adding an SG will help. I hope she declares now, lol.”
“The free agent market in regards to guards is thin, and after Paige, every guard prospect in this upcoming draft comes with significant concerns: injury history, lack of size, shooting inconsistency, or defensive liabilities.”

“Honestly, I don’t know what the Sparks can or will do. They don’t even have their first-round pick next year. It felt like they were banking on a ‘Paige or bust’ scenario heading into this lottery, in my opinion.”
