“No Gamecocks?”: Fans React As MiLaysia Fulwiley, Azzi Fudd, Sarah Strong, Lauren Betts, And More Kick Off Unrivaled Summit

Unrivaled, the professional 3×3 basketball league, started by Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart in 2023, has seen tremendous success. To strengthen the league further, Unrivaled signed 13 NIL deals with players in July. The list includes Azzi Fudd, Sarah Strong, Olivia Miles, Lauren Betts, MiLaysia Fulwiley, and more.

The women of Unrivaled recently had a day out and spent some time together to bond with one another. A video of the same was posted on Instagram by Unrivaled Basketball, which garnered a lot of comments from fans.

One fan noticed that Ta’Niya Latson of the South Carolina Gamecocks was not with the Unrivaled team. The fan wrote:

    “No Gamecocks? How Sway?”

Even though Latson was among the 13 players who signed an NIL deal with Unrivaled, it’s possible that she stayed back at SC for summer training.

Here are some of the other most notable comments from that video:

“Azzi Fudd on Unrivaled. I can’t wait bruv”

“Them women can ball !!! Ya hear me 💯👌🏾”

    “Baby Goats fr!!!🔥🔥🔥”

“Love this! The W gonna have to pay”

“the future is in great hands 🙌”

It’s clear from the responses that Unrivaled has won the hearts of basketball fans. There’s genuine excitement about the league, and it’s only been two years since it started. So, in the coming years, we might get to see Unrivaled break new grounds and bring the world’s attention to women’s basketball.

Flau’jae Johnson shared her thoughts on Unrivaled

Johnson has decided to continue her partnership with the 3×3 league. She recently inked a new NIL deal and is excited about the new chapter. She heaped praise on the quality of the league and showed her appreciation for this new movement.

“Unrivaled was lit,” Johnson said. “When I watched the first game I was like, this is real. It was super professional and catered to the athletes. It’s going to get more and more active more and more competitive. I don’t know what’s happening in the back, but I think there’s just going to be more incentive to turn up.”

Luke Cooper, Unrivaled president of basketball operations, spoke about the league’s commitment to raising the bar in women’s basketball. Cooper stated that investing in the right talent and uplifting women’s sport is going to remain the top priority.

“This transformational, first-of-its-kind initiative brings together the bets of the best and reflect our deep commitment to electing the women’s game and holistically supporting athletes.”

There have been a lot of demands from fans to take Unrivaled on the road. Currently, it’s only played in Miami. If the organizers give the fans what they want, it’ll add to the overall growth of the league.
