‘Giving Me Karen Clark Energy,’ ‘More Annoying Than Angel Reese’ – Fans React As Caitlin Clark Issues Threat To WNBA Referee

Last night, Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever defeated the Connecticut Sun 85-77. The 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year had a good night, scoring 14 points, with eight rebounds and seven assists. However, during the game, Clark didn’t seem as happy as one might think.

At a point in the third quarter, the Indiana Fever star was seen arguing with a referee, and even threatening him with “calling the league on him”. This was something to which fans didn’t take kindly.

” I love CC but it’s giving me Karen Clark energy 😂” Wrote one fan

“Is Caitlin a spoiled brat?” said someone else

“Has Caitlin Clark become more annoying than Angel Reese now? She’s definitely closing the gap lately.” wondered one fan

Others seem to think that the league is to blame.

“I feel like the WNBA wants to be this way. Kid of like a combo of Basketball, Rollerderby, Hockey and WWE. They have decided the fans like violence and mistreatment. Seriously” complained one fan

Gotta admit the @WNBA has the worst professional referees I’ve ever seen in a sport” Pointed out another

Others thought that the fans were the ones to blame.

“So many of you in these comments clearly never saw Bird or Jordan play” Said one person

Caitlin Clark was forced off the court against the Connecticut Sun due to a recurring injury

Another reason why the game was a disappointment for Caitlin Clark is that the 23-year-old was forced to retire from the court with less than a minute on the clock due to an injury. The game against Connecticut was Clark’s fourth after a five-game absence due to a groin injury. Now it seems the issue has reappeared.

After providing an easy assist for Kelsey Mitchell, Clark was seen limping on the court while she grabbed the inside of her right leg. While walking off the court, she hit her head in frustration against the cushioned back of the basket.

While she sat on the bench, she covered her head with a towel and was seemingly holding back tears.

Speaking with the press on the aftermath of the game, Indiana Fever coach Stephanie White said:

“(Caitlin Clark) Just felt a little something in her groin… We’ll get it evaluated and see what happens from there,” Said White

The Indiana Fever play the New York Liberty tonight at 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
