Shelomi Sanders, the youngest daughter of NFL legend and Colorado Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders, recently shared her insights on certain topics related to diabetes, based on her own experience. On Wednesday, Nov. 19, Alabama A&M Bulldogs guard Shelomi posted a series of photos and reposts to her Instagram stories, discussing diabetes and advocating for individuals with the condition.
In the uploaded stories, there was one video that Shelomi Sanders reposted, in which she was answering whether a diabetic claim was a myth or the truth. This is because it has long been reported that the Boulder, Colorado, native had been dealing with Type 1 diabetes since she was about 13 years old. With this, she is looking to help others who have the same or a similar diagnosis through her social media platforms.

Shelomi Sanders’ other Instagram story posts include photos of her, as she is advertising different links for her followers to learn more about diabetes misconceptions and facts. This aligns well with the aforementioned reel, in which she was debunking any false narratives about the disease.

Shelomi Sanders, much to the delight of her father Deion and the rest of their family, is currently in her fourth year of collegiate hoops with coach Dawn Thornton’s Bulldogs in the 2025-26 season. They have currently uncorked an overall record of 1-3, with their next game being against the Nevada Wolf Pack on Friday, Nov. 21, in away territory. Shelomi Sanders previously played her first two years with the Jackson State Lady Tigers and the Colorado Buffaloes.

Along with her posts on her Instagram stories about diabetes, Shelomi Sanders also shared what her father, Deion, wrote to her in their text messages. It seems as though Deion Sanders gave her a lengthy message that is meant to inspire the young standout in her college basketball career, as Shelomi opted to highlight one of the points that talks about building through adversity.
“The trials, tribulations and struggles that you face are only allowed to build you and not kill you. Live and learn from everything you face and everything you go through. You wouldn’t have a testimony without the consistency of the test. #CoachPrime,” Deion Sanders was quoted as saying.
