It’s the offseason, so South Carolina women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley never misses an opportunity to get in on some fun. The girls around her make sure the Gamecocks’ coach never misses out on new trends and the latest video proves that.
On Tuesday, Staley uploaded a video on Instagram where she took hardwood for the dance floor and made some signature moves in the process alongside Gamecocks forward Chloe Kitts and teammate Lele Grissett.
Posted from inside Colonial Life Arena, the clip features the trio grooving in sync (well, mostly) with Staley leading the fun in her signature relaxed style.
“Better one or better two? 🤣🤣🤣 @lehda.aaa the conductor. @chloe.kitts coming in 3rd place. And you know I 8! 🤣🤣🤣,” she wrote, tagging Lele as the choreographer of the moves and humorously calling out Kitts for coming in last place.

Dawn Staley Approached For Coaching Position in NBA
While we have seen crossovers from women’s college basketball to the WNBA in terms of coaches, rarely has anyone been approached by an NBA team. But seeing Dawn Staley’s championship pedigree, the New York Knicks approached her for their vacant head coach position.
The franchise engaged with Staley earlier this week, confirming the outreach through South Carolina AD Jeremiah Donati, who said:
“If I were them, I would have called her, too.”

Earlier this year, Staley signed a record-breaking $25 million extension through 2029–30, making her highest‑paid coach in women’s college basketball. However, her contract includes a clause that would allow her to move on to a professional league such as the WNBA and NBA anytime she wants.
Despite a potential offer along the way, Staley insists she’s content at South Carolina and ‘does not have a passion for the next level.’
As per The Sun, New York has conducted formal interviews with several other candidates, including Mike Brown, Taylor Jenkins, Micah Nori, and James Borrego. A second-round interview for Brown is reportedly already in motion.
