During this year’s WNBA All-Star Weekend, the Minnesota Lynx duo Courtney Williams and Natisha Hiedeman, better known as the Stud Budz, turned heads. Williams, in particular, picked up UConn’s rising star and Paige Bueckers’ girlfriend, Azzi Fudd, during the All-Star Party.
During the recent episode of Fudd’s podcast named “Fudd Around and Find Out,” Williams was reminded about the moment.
“Y’all was picking people up. But I do remember picking you up. What’s up?” Williams recalled.
Asked why she was picking people up in the first place, Courtney clarified about her intention or mindset behind it. She said:
“That’s right. Well, I picked you up in a different way, Azzi, than I was picking the other baddies up. You feel me? It was a very respectful… yeah, it was sister the way I picked you up. The way I picked you up was because it was like, oh, that’s Azzi.
“I had already seen y’all was with my partner. So I wasn’t there when you had the interaction with them. So then when I seen you at your party, I’m like, wow, we here turning a party up. … This is her party. We’re about to leave. Let me show the young boy some love. Believe it.”
Paige Bueckers Officially Confirms She’s Dating Azzi Fudd at All-Star Weekend
Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd are former UConn teammates who won the national championship last season together. Bueckers decided to depart for the WNBA. She was picked first overall by the Dallas Wings in this year’s WNBA draft. On the other hand, Fudd decided to stay for her senior year at UConn.
Months after the NCAA finals, speculations started to pick up about the two possibly dating each other. The two dropped subtle hints about each other, like once Fudd uploaded a mirror selfie where the back of her smartphone had “Paige Bueckers’ girlfriend” written on it.
Finally, those rumors came true at the WNBA All-Star weekend as the Wings rookie confirmed that she is indeed dating Fudd. However, it took a Q&A to extract that fact out of her. At the Orange Carpet, when asked who her “D-1 girlfriend” is, she grinned and said, “Azzi Fudd.”
Since then, the two have publicly shown support for each other. Like during a Wings game this season, post the All-Star game, Fudd attended the game wearing a custom white T-shirt that read “I Heart PB.”
It seems their friendship deepened during their time in Storrs and finally they became partners of each other.
