Chicago Sky Trade 2026 First-Rounder to Lynx for No. 11 Pick in 2025 WNBA Draft

In a crucial move ahead of the 2025 WNBA Draft, the Chicago Sky acquired the Minnesota Lynx’s No. 11 overall pick. In exchange, the Lynx acquired the Sky’s 2026 first-round pick and gave up their previous option to swap 2026 first-round picks with Chicago.

Chicago Sky Bolster 2025 Draft Arsenal with Strategic Trade for No. 11 Pick

Last year, the Sky traded with Minnesota to move up to the No. 7 pick in the draft, where they selected LSU forward Angel Reese. As part of the trade, the Sky sent Minnesota the rights to exchange 2026 first-round picks.

“We believe the 2025 draft class is deep and we’re excited about the flexibility we obtain by acquiring another first-round pick this year,” Sky general manager Jeff Pagliocca said.

This deal gives the Sky four picks in the upcoming draft: Nos. 10, 11, 16, and 22. Previously, the team traded the No. 3 pick to the Washington Mystics for two-time All-Star Ariel Atkins.

The Sky have back-to-back picks at Nos. 10 and No. 11, allowing them to select top talent from a deep draft class. Potential prospects include Sania Feagan of South Carolina, Sarah Ashlee Barker of Alabama, JJ Quinerly of West Virginia, Makayla Timpson of Florida State, and Georgia Amoore of Kentucky.

By trading away their 2025 first-round pick, the Minnesota Lynx now have two first-round picks in the 2026 draft, which is expected to be deeper than this year’s class. This strategic move is consistent with the team’s existing roster strength and future objectives.
