Georgia Tech freshman guard Chazadi Wright has entered the transfer portal following a strong debut season. The 5’4″ playmaker averaged 7.2 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 2.6 assists while shooting 37.1% from the floor in 2024–25.
Wright’s standout performance came in a win over then-No. 23 Nebraska, where she scored a career-best 15 points during the Yellow Jackets’ 13-0 start.
Her role grew throughout the year, seeing 30-plus minutes in three of the final four games. She reached double digits in two of those, against NC State and Stanford. Wright also earned increased trust from the coaching staff, helping Georgia Tech return to the NCAA tournament.
Known for her energy off the bench and timely contributions, her decision to transfer could be a key opportunity for several programs.

Tennessee Lady Vols
Tennessee is looking to fill the gap left by the graduation of starting guard Samara Spencer. Although Nya Robertson, a transfer guard, has been added, the team still needs experienced guards to make an immediate impact.
Wright’s offensive creation and playmaking (2.6 assists per game) would be a strong addition for the Lady Vols as they aim to stay competitive in the SEC.
Kentucky Wildcats
Kentucky, which recently added former Georgia Tech guard Tonie Morgan, is in the midst of rebuilding its backcourt. Wright’s ability to distribute the ball (2.6 APG) and perform under pressure aligns with coach Kenny Brooks’ fast-paced system.
With Kentucky looking to improve its offense after struggles in close games, Wright’s 37.1% shooting could enhance their backcourt options.
Indiana Hoosiers
Indiana faces the loss of veteran guards Chloe Moore-McNeil and Sydney Parrish due to graduation, creating an immediate need for backcourt depth and playmaking. While the Hoosiers have already added transfers Phoenix Stotjin and Chloe Spreen, Wright’s ability to develop into a consistent scorer and facilitator could further strengthen the team.
Her three years of eligibility make her a valuable long-term asset for Indiana’s guard rotation.
Ole Miss Rebels
Ole Miss, having already added Georgia Tech’s Tianna Thompson, is targeting guards with high potential. Wright’s late-season performances, including double-digit points against NC State and Stanford, would fit coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin’s defensive-focused, transition-heavy style.
Wright’s presence could improve Ole Miss’ backcourt efficiency, particularly after ranking in the top 50 in scoring last season.

USC Trojans
USC, having secured Georgia Tech’s Kara Dunn, is seeking guard depth after JuJu Watkins’ anticipated departure to the 2025 WNBA Draft. Wright’s quickness and playmaking skills would thrive in coach Lindsay Gottlieb’s fast-paced system.
USC’s national title aspirations could be an attractive option for Wright, offering her the chance to showcase her skills on a high-profile stage.
