“They’re Not Better Without Caitlin Clark” – Candace Parker Shuts Down Indiana Fever Narrative With Blunt Response

Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark has been out of action since mid-July, when she suffered a recurring groin injury during an 85-77 victory over the Connecticut Sun. Since then, the Fever have won six out of eight games, which has made some people wonder if the franchise is better without its superstar point guard.

However, former WNBA star Candace Parker completely disagrees with this narrative, and she made it public this week, speaking on the “Post Moves” podcast.

“For those naysayers out there who say they’re better without Caitlin. They’re not. They’re not better without Caitlin. But I do feel at times like this, different people step up. Just like Natasha Howard stepped up during the Michigan Cup. It can be a growth opportunity for teams. Like Caitlin is one of those people who has a high IQ. So I know she’s watching,” Parker said.

“And I know she’s going to come back and make you all that much better. So it honestly is scary because not only are you allowing other people to step up, but you’re allowing Caitlin to then survey and realize how she can add. I said from the get-go. Indiana Fever is scary,” she added.

Caitlin Clark is the second-best scorer for the Indiana Fever this season, averaging 16.5 points. Only veteran Kelsey Mitchell has a higher average with 20 points per game. Clark is also the team’s best assister, with 8.8 assists per game.

The biggest problem for Caitlin Clark is her lack of durability. She has only played 13 games this season, in comparison to the 30 games played by the likes of Kelsey Mitchell or Aliyah Boston.

Will Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark be ready to play this Thursday night against the Phoenix Mercury?

At the moment, there’s no date for Caitlin Clark’s return, and it’s expected that she will lose her ninth game in a row.

The last update on Caitlin Clark’s condition was on Sunday, when Fever’s Stephanie White spoke about it. According to White, the team prefers to keep her out of the court for a while longer and bring her in when they’re sure she’s ready rather than to risk her now.

It makes sense considering her’s is a recurring injury that already forced her off the court for four games earlier in the season. When the injury came back, she had just been back for five games.
