The Las Vegas Aces have taken a 2-1 lead in their ongoing semifinal clash against the Caitlin Clark-less Indiana Fever after winning Friday’s game 84-72. The closely contested game saw Aces’ Jackie Young erupt for 25 points, five rebounds, four assists, and one steal.
Though the Aces won, A’ja Wilson struggled in her offensive assignment against Aliyah Boston, who bothered the MVP all night long. Wilson finished the game with just 13 points, shooting 6 of 20 from the field. She collected eight rebounds, assisted on four FGs, blocked thrice, and stole once.
“1 win away from going back to the finals… Aces 2-1,” one fan reacted.
Although the Fever was defeated, the internet was kind to them as they were playing without their star guard, Caitlin Clark, who was ruled out of the season on Sept. 4 with a groin injury.
“Fever been a way better team since Caitlin Clark been out,” one fan commented.

“I don’t respect the fact that Caitlin Clark can go on slumps … exaggerate injuries, sit out the playoffs, and leave her team hanging. Duck all-star 3-point competitions … and sit on the bench jumping and smiling with Sophie .. and people still respect it …. I CAN NEVER,” one fan wrote.

Caitlin Clark Opts Against Attending Hall of Fame Induction to Support Fever
Caitlin Clark was supposed to be present for her induction into the Dowling Catholic Athletic Hall of Fame, her alma mater in West Des Moines, Iowa.
She would have been there had there been a natural course of action, and Fever was eliminated in the first round. However, the team has reached the semifinals, putting Clark in a spot to be available only on one occasion on Friday, as both events were only 15 minutes apart.
The Fever guard reportedly stayed with the team, missing her Class of 2025 Hall of Fame induction at her high school.
Clark has remained in steadfast support of the Fever throughout the season, even though she has played only 13 games. It remains to be seen if the Fever can force Game 5 to keep the series alive when they set foot on the court next.
