Washington Mystics forward Kiki Iriafen celebrated her 22nd birthday on Aug. 26. Iriafen is a former Stanford and USC athlete. She was drafted by the Mystics this year as their fourth overall pick.
To celebrate her special day, Iriafen went out in a black dress. She posted several pictures of herself in the black dress on Instagram, which garnered responses from Cameron Brink, teammate Sonia Citron, and more.

“Beautifullllll❤️❤️ inside and out,” Cameron Brink wrote.
“prettiest birthday girl,” Sonia Citron wrote.
“IK DATS RIGHTTTT😍😍,” UConn’s Kayleigh Heckel wrote.
“HBD GORGGG,” Lucy Olsen wrote.
“the baddesttt 😍,” Jayda Curry wrote.
“tea.” Georgia Amoore wrote.

As a rookie in the league, Iriafen has had a good season so far. She is averaging 12.9 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in 38 games this season. Iriafen has been shooting over 49% from the field on 9.8 attempts per game.
Unfortunately, the Mystics have been falling off the charts lately. They’re currently the 10th seed with a 16-22 overall record. They have won only three of their last 10 games, and they’re currently on a four-game losing streak.
Two weeks ago, the Mystics registered a major win against the Indiana Fever, where Iriafen shone the brightest. The 22-year-old registered a spectacular double-double, scoring 18 points with 12 rebounds.
The Mystics beat the Fever 88-84 in that game. Since then, losing games has become more frequent. With the playoffs approaching, they’ll need to get back to winning. It’s not gonna be an easy task, even though the gap between them and the ninth-seeded Sparks isn’t big.
The Sparks have won six of their last 10 games and are gunning for a playoff spot. The competition above them is much more fierce.
Kiki Iriafen made franchise history a week ago
Iriafen is a part of the new generation of hoopers in the WNBA who are often better prepared from the jump. The 6’3 forward is incredible at both ends of the floor. So far, she has shown that she can score points and grab rebounds like a seasoned veteran.
On Aug. 21st, during a game against the Connecticut Sun, the Mystics forward made franchise history.
“With 11 points, 8 rebounds so far in tonight’s game, Kiki Iriafen has totaled her 25th 10 point, 5 rebound game. She is now tied with Chamique Holdsclaw for the most amount by a Mystics rookie in franchise history,” the Mystics announced on X.
