Serah Williams has been one of the newest additions to the UConn Huskies program this year. The former Wisconsin Badgers forward entered the transfer portal in February 2025. In April, she joined the Huskies.
Now, set to team up with Azzi Fudd, Kayleigh Heckel, who also joined UConn this year, and more, Williams has already won over her new teammates. The same was evident after she posted some pictures from a night out on Instagram.
The Wisconsin transfer uploaded six pictures in a recent IG post, with the caption:
“🤏🏾🤏🏾🤏🏾”

Williams is a two-time First-team All-Big Ten, in the last two years. She also won the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year in 2024. The 21-year-old is a great addition to the UConn roster and just as important, considering the position they’re in.
As the 2025 NCAA Champions, the Huskies are expected to make another dominant run in the next season. In order to go back-to-back, they’ll need all the talent they can get, especially since players like Paige Bueckers have left.
This will also be her last collegiate year, and Williams wants to step up to the WNBA on a high note.
Serah Williams is adjusting to the UConn style of basketball
During a conversation with CT Insider in June, Serah Williams opened up about adjusting to the UConn standard, the reason behind joining the Huskies, and what she is expecting from her last season at the college level.
“It’s motivating, the standard’s high, and that’s just how you have to come in and compete every day,” Williams said. “It’s been really good. I mean, it’s definitely a new environment, but I really do love my teammates and the staff. It’s just been a good time so far.”
In her final year, Williams decided to prioritize two things: where she could have the most fun, and increase her chances of winning a championship. What better program than UConn to live those dreams?
“Once I got here, the girls were very funny, the staff was very homey, the environment, I mean, you see all the championships everywhere, and the success of the program, and it’s just kind of hard to not want to come here after seeing that.”
Serah Williams isn’t completely unfamiliar with the Huskies’ standards. Her coach at Wisconsin, Marisa Moseley, was an assistant coach at UConn from 2009 to 2018. So, with that little sense of familiarity and a great bond with her teammates, Williams is expected to raise the bar this season.
