As her teammate worked out, Azzi Fudd chimed in and revealed what could be an interesting nickname for Morgan.

“Diaper booty working hard 😤😤,” commented Azzi Fudd on Morgan Cheli’s post.

Fudd formed a one-two punch with Paige Bueckers to lead UConn to the 2025 national championship. As for Cheli, she was part of the championship team, winning the national title as a freshman. She was a five-star recruit and a former McDonald’s All-American who is expected to get more responsibilities in her sophomore year with the Huskies.

As a freshman, Cheli averaged 2.5 points and 2.4 rebounds per game, playing 24 games from the bench. As for Azzi Fudd, she averaged 13.6points per game as a redshirt junior and will be entering her senior year on a mission to win back-to-back with the Huskies.

Azzi Fudd missed almost the entirety of her junior season, only playing the first two games before going out with a season-ending injury. She came back with a vengeance, though, becoming the perfect partner for Paige Bueckers to finally win that national title.

Azzi Fudd Ready To Lead UConn To Another National Championship

As for how ready the incoming senior is to lead the Huskies, Azzi Fudd says she is prepared to play her hardest to win another Natty for the Huskies after winning one with Bueckers earlier this year.

“We’re not necessarily defending anything,” Fudd told reporters. “This is a new team, a new season. We’re all working toward the same thing. I think we’re prepared for playing our hardest and doing what we do. But like I said, our expectations are through the roof at all times. When we win, when we lose, our goals are always the same.”

“Last year was very rewarding, for many reasons,” she added. “What this group has been through together, my injuries, my journey here, and then you go through the whole roster, everything that everyone has been through here, individually and also together. To be able to do it with Aubrey [Griffin] and Paige, as their last year — I mean, they’ve been through so much in this program and given so much to this program, sacrificed so much — so to do it with them, for them, with this group, means the world.”

UConn now has 12 national championships thanks to Fudd, who is seen as a possible Top 5 pick in the WNBA, with a possible reunion with Bueckers happening, especially as the Dallas Wings have a high chance of getting a high pick next year.
