Azzi Fudd is turning out to be one of the best college hoopers in the recent history of the UConn Huskies. But that mettle in her didn’t just come from being naturally skilled in hooping. Fudd had to undergo some tough practice sessions, especially with her father, Tim Fudd.
Speaking on her podcast, “Fudd Around and Find Out,” Azzi revealed how her father didn’t allow her to use the washroom during practice when she really needed to. Describing the experience, Fudd said:
“So he kicked me out of practice, kicked me out of the gym because I asked to go pee. Something you could not even control. No, actually, he told me that you can’t control it and you should only be asking to go to the bathroom if you need to poop because that’s what you can’t hold, but if you need to pee, then you’re not really trying. You’re not working hard enough.”

This wasn’t all. Azzi Fudd’s father even prepared her for her first pitch in a Washington Nationals baseball game recently. Fudd’s father took her to a Dick’s Sporting Goods outlet so that she wouldn’t ’embarrass her family.’ Describing this experience, Fudd said:
“We went to the front, and there Jose had a glove, and we all practiced throwing, and they made me practice, and he was like, ‘You throw like a girl.’ And I’m like, ‘And I am a girl.’ Okay. Period. I had to check in real quick.”
Perhaps, Azzi Fudd’s father is very particular about her daughter excelling in every sport, be it basketball or even a first pitch for a baseball game.
Azzi Fudd reflects on starting a season without Paige Bueckers
Azzi Fudd and Paige Bueckers have been one of the most dynamic duos in college hoops history. However, now that Paige Bueckers has moved on to level up in the WNBA, Paige Bueckers is without her to compete in the college hoops landscape.
Speaking about this in an appearance on “Inside the W,” Fudd said:
“Yeah, it’s definitely going to be different, but it’s going to be great. We have some new pieces coming in and I mean, just from this summer, I got like chills. I was so excited with how things went. So, to get more time with them to really build our chemistry and build what we’re working on as a team, it’s going to be another great year.” (10:33)
For now, Azzi Fudd can expect to be drafted on the same team as Paige Bueckers to continue their dynamic partnership together. However, if Azzi Fudd had to face her in the WNBA, she would have second thoughts. Nevertheless, Bueckers remains Fudd’s favorite WNBA players among current ones in the WNBA.
