“Tried To Clown Me, I Made A Bag Off It”: Angel Reese Claps Back at ‘MeBounds’ Comments While Flexing 6-Figure Profits

Chicago Sky standout Angel Reese has hit back at her naysayers for criticizing her game based on offensive rebounding. On Thursday, Oct. 2, Reese uploaded the latest episode of her “Unapologetically Angel” podcast on YouTube, which she said is her exit interview from the 2025 WNBA season. She talked about and recapped everything that happened in her sophomore campaign.

At one point in the 40-minute episode, as captured by @brwsports on Instagram, Reese addressed the “Mebounds” narrative that she dealt with throughout the year. This is because several individuals believe that Reese benefits from her misses and grabs offensive rebounds, only looking to score. Reese is taking in all of this and is asking for more criticism to help her out in her newest signature shoe release.

“ So the ‘Mebounds,’ if you know, you know. They tried to clown me for rebounds and what did I do? I made it, I made a bag off of it, six figures plus. Thank you. So y’all can try again ’cause I do need another idea for some more colorways. So, just keep it coming,” Reese said.

Earlier in September, Reese, along with global sportswear brand Reebok, released the “Angel Reese 1,” Reese’s first-ever signature shoe release with the company. Out of the three debut colorways, one was named “Mebounds,” which sports a bright and vivid all-pink upper, midsole, and outsole, with subtle hits of white all-throughout and different hues of pink.

This is in direct relation to the backlash Reese has been getting for her field goal percentages, as opposed to her rebounding averages. For the 2025 campaign, Reese tallied 14.7 points, 12.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.5 steals per game, as coach Tyler Marsh’s Sky squad finished with an overall record of 10-34, and did not make it into this year’s postseason play.
