Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese wants to capitalize on her growing market right away. She took inspiration from the rollout of A’ja Wilson‘s A’One signature sneaker with Nike and said that she doesn’t like to wait on things like this.
Reese, who has a sneaker deal with Reebok, will see her first shoe dropping early on Sept. 18, 2025, instead of the originally planned 2026 release. During an interview with Elle, Reese hinted at what went into her announcement of an early rollout with reference to what $4 million worth Wilson (as per Celebrity Net Worth) did.
“Not really, but I do pay attention to signature shoes and the rollouts,” Reese said. “Rollouts are the most important thing for me because that’s what grabs people’s attention. I think A’ja [Wilson] did a really good job with how she rolled out her shoe, obviously it was long overdue, but her rollout was amazing.”
Wilson’s signature show was finally unveiled in May after a long wait. The development took 10 months and two years for fine-tuning. A motivational message is also embedded on the heel, saying:
“Weakness, weakness. We don’t have time for that.”
It’s in Pink A’ura colorway and comes with Cushlon ST2 midsole, firm base, supportive mesh upper and traction. The A’One launch sold out online in under five minutes. Reese might be hoping to receive a similar response from fans when her shoe releases next month.
Details regarding Angel Reese’s first shoe with Reebok
On July 9, Angel Reese announced that her Angel Reese 1 shoe will soon be released. Reebok, which has returned to the basketball space, will release it on Sept. 18.
Reese is only the second player and the first in 30 years to sign a deal with Reebok. The first women’s basketball player to do it was Rebecca Lobo in 1997.
The Angel Reese 1 will come out in three colorways: “Diamond Dust,” “Receipts Ready” and “Mebounds.” A lot of things have been kept in mind while developing the shoe. The sneaker, perfect for on-court dominance and street versatility, is embedded with performance features such as an exoskeleton upper, ERS (Energy Return System), TPU Stability Cup and high-abrasion rubber outsole.
The shoe is set to be priced at $120 (USD). It can be purchased at Reebok stores and select retailers like Dick’s Sporting Goods.
