Former LSU Star Aneesah Morrow Names the Player Who Should Still Be in the WNBA – And It’s Not Who You’d Expect

Connecticut Sun Rookie Aneesah Morrow has made a smooth transition from college to the WNBA, as she has shown she can hang in the big leagues. The former LSU Tiger sat down with WNBA legend Lisa Leslie during her “Between the Lines” podcast and opened up about many things, including people she thinks should still be in the WNBA.

In the interview, Morrow stated that she believes that Aari McDonald, who was let go by the LA Sparks earlier this year and not signed by any team yet around the time of the interview, should still be in the WNBA. McDonald now played with the Indiana Fever, with her being brought in to replace the injured Caitlin Clark. However, she was soon released again after Clark returned.

“That’s a good one. Um, I say, Aari McDonald,” Aneesah Morrow told Lisa Leslie.

“Oh, and I know like her process and everything, but like every I feel like every time she goes somewhere, she makes a huge impact, and I feel like she should definitely be in the league, especially like watching her games when she just was with the Fever,” she explained.

Lisa Leslie agreed with Morrow, and McDonald did not stay a free agent for long, however. The Indiana Fever decided to sign her up for the rest of the season, even with Caitlin Clark already back in the lineup.

As for Aneesah Morrow, she was the seventh overall pick in the WNBA draft after averaging a double-double during her senior season with 18.7 points and 13.5 rebounds per game.

Former LSU Star Aneesah Morrow Talks About What Her Perfect Player Would Be Like

During that same interview with former LA Sparks legend Lisa Leslie, Annesah Morrow was asked what her perfect player would be, and she revealed that the perfect player would be a combination of several other players.

“She would have the handles of Kelsey Mitchell, the mid-range of I would saym Paige (Bueckers), the defense of Aniessah, the three-point shooting of Caitlin Clark, the post game of Lisa Leslie,” she said.

Leslie laughed at being chosen but joked that if Aneesah Morrow wanted to win, she would pick her.

In that interview, Morrow admitted that while she does not trash-talk that much, she would respond if an opponent trash-talked her. She also revealed that she loves bounce music and nobody in the Connecticut locker room shares her music taste, as many of them prefer hip-hop.
