A’ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces have been on a roll lately. Wilson is having yet another MVP-worthy season, and the Aces, with six straight wins, have the longest running win streak in the WNBA. Their recent win against the Phoenix Mercury was a nail-biter.
The Aces registered an 86-83 win with yet another brilliant performance from Wilson. She dropped 30 points, her seventh 30+ points game of the season, and had 16 rebounds with one assist. Wilson played her natural game, something that she explained with a weird analogy at the post-game presser.
“I told myself at the All-Star break to just let the game come to me,” she said. “It’s going to be what it’s going to be. And if I try to force it because I want this win so bad for my team, it’s like forcing a fart, all you get is shit.”

Wilson shocked Chelsea Gray with her analogy as she was sitting right next to her. With a shocked look on her face, she told Wilson that her comment was about to go viral. And she was spot on with her prediction.

With the win against Mercury, the Aces improved their overall record to 20 wins and 14 losses. They stand fifth in the league.
A’ja Wilson recently made WNBA history
Wilson has already written her name in the basketball history books, but she still has the hunger of a newcomer. She continues to push her game and break records in the process. During a game against the Connecticut Sun, she bagged another WNBA record.
Wilson dropped 32 points and had 20 rebounds on the scoresheet. She became the first player in league history to have a 30-20 double-double. Interestingly, it was Wilson’s second career game with 20 rebounds and 30th game with 30+ points.
After the performance against Mercury, Wilson’s tally now stands at 31 career 30+ point games. When asked about her double-double record, Wilson was shocked to know no one had ever put those numbers before.
“I didn’t even know, as many greats as we have in this league, it’s kind of a shocker that it’s just now happening. It’s a blessing. I love what I do.”
In yesterday’s win against the Mercury, she was accompanied by Gray, who scored 10 of her 16 points in the fourth quarter. Jackie Young, at 17, and Jewell Loyd, with 10, also made notable contributions to the win.
