Indiana Fever forward Aliyah Boston shared her experience facing off against her WNBA teammate, Lexie Hull, in the Unrivaled League. Boston’s Phantom BC faced off against Hull’s Rose BC during the preseason.
Talking to Candace Parker on their “Post Moves” podcast on Thursday, Boston talked about how Hull reacted after she “ran through her” while fighting over a screen.
“It was actually kind of funny, there was one possession where she set a screen on me and I was like fighting to get over the top and I did like run through her,” Boston said.
Boston continued, sharing Lexie Hull’s reaction to the play the following day:
“The next day, she was like, ‘are you kidding me?’ She’s like, ‘why did you run me over?’ I was like, ‘I had to get over,’ She was like, ‘Aliyah but you weren’t getting over, you just decided you were going to run through.’”
Aliyah Boston and Lexie Hull played key roles on the Indiana Fever last season, helping the team reach Game Five of the WNBA semifinals.
Boston started all 44 games, averaging 15.0 points, 8.2 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game. She also earned All-WNBA and All-Defensive Second Team honors.
Meanwhile, Hull averaged 7.2 ppg and 4.3 rpg, endearing herself to the Fever fans with her grit and hustle. The team was one win away from reaching the WNBA Finals before being eliminated by the Las Vegas Aces.
