Washington Mystics rookie Lucy Olsen seems to be spending her off-season in the best way possible. Currently, she is in Australia preparing to feature as a point guard for the WNBL team Townsville Fire. While she is at it, she did take the moment to explore some of the sunny beaches in Down Under and give fans beautiful glimpses of the same.
Olsen recently posted a snap on her Instagram story with her boyfriend Grayson Herr, soaking sunlight by the beachside. Olsen was all smiles in that picture, posing alongside her boyfriend in a cute selfie, wearing a pink bikini. She captioned the picture with three pink hearts, giving fans a glimpse of her bond with her beau.
The WNBL announced Lucy Olsen joining the Townsville Fire earlier this year, in July. Olsen is best known for her basketball IQ, shot-making ability, and defensive pressure, as well as being a solid player on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. Some of her best achievements include winning the gold for Team USA in the 2023 3×3 U23 Nations League Final. After struggling in the Grand Finals last season, Townsville coach Shannon Seebobm believes Olsen to be a perfect fit for the program.
“We’re really excited to add Lucy to our team. She’s a skilled, versatile guard who can score at all three levels and has excellent vision to create for others,” he said. “What really stood out to me was her character, everyone I spoke to had nothing but great things to say about her work ethic and the kind of teammate she is. Lucy ticks a lot of boxes for us on and off the floor, and I know she will come in ready to work hard and contribute to our team’s success.”
With her addition to the Fire, Olsen joins Defensive Player of the Year Lauren Cox, FIBA Asia Cup MVP Alex Fowler, Abbey Ellis, Alicia Froling, Saffron Shiels, and Dakota Crichton among the rest.
Who is Lucy Olsen’s Boyfriend?
Lucy Olsen has been in a relationship with her boyfriend, Grayson Herr, since 2023. Herr has played four seasons with the Trinity Tigers from 2020 to 2024. Though he played only one game as a freshman, he saw himself in various other roles in his following years.
Through his college basketball career, Herr averaged 2.7 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 0.6 assists as a junior. His best season was in his senior year, where he averaged 3.6 points, 0.9 rebounds, and 0.6 assists that season.
Herr graduated from Trinity in May 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Finance. He was academically a sound student, earning honors such as NABC Honors Court for the 2022-23 year and was featured on the SCAC Academic Honor Roll twice in 2021 and 2022. He is currently working as an Associate Sales Representative with the Lincoln Financial Group in Dallas, Texas.
