A CFB analyst has revealed that Miami’s 2025 success might not hinge on Carson Beck and that the quarterback’s injury could be a blessing in disguise for Miami. The analyst also revealed why he wants Miami to evolve without the 23-year-old quarterback.

Why 2025 Could Force Miami To Evolve — With or Without Carson Beck at 100%
Head coach Mario Cristobal has led Miami to an impressive resurgence in his third season at the helm, finishing with a record of 10-3. This was Miami’s first 10-win season since 2017 and also marked just their second 10-win season since 2004. This feat was made possible by the impressive Cam Ward, who was selected by the Tennessee Titans with the first overall pick after he declared for the NFL Draft at the end of the season.
However, Carson Beck has been a key player for Miami after the former Georgia Bulldogs quarterback decided to commit to them after entering the transfer portal. However, a CFB analyst has revealed that Beck’s injury could be a blessing in disguise that would allow Miami to evolve and not be dependent on one player.
“It’s really weird, but it’s never a blessing when your quarterback’s hurt,” he said. “But I think it’s very interesting that Beck comes in there off an injury because when Cam Ward came in there, I was down there for some of those early workouts when he first walked into the building, and it was so obvious from day one it was just his team. Everything was going to jump on his back. Carson Beck, you’re hoping he can do that, but I don’t think people are banking on that like they were when Cam Ward walked in. And it may be a blessing in disguise because what it does is it convinces your entire organization you can’t just ride a guy like you did last year. They went and hired a new DC, so obviously that result is not anywhere close to the standard regardless of who our quarterback is.”
Beck served as Stetson Bennett’s backup despite being part of two national championship teams at Georgia. However, the 23-year-old is motivated to pursue a national championship as a starter, and he could be the difference-maker for Miami.

The 23-year-old passed for 7,912 yards, with 58 touchdowns and 20 interceptions during his five years at Georgia, two of which he served as the starting quarterback. He also led the Bulldogs to the College Football Playoff last season but missed the game after suffering a season-ending injury in the first half against the Texas Longhorns during the SEC Championship Game.
