The 2025 NFL Draft has officially come to an end. Many players across the board have seen their dreams come true from Cam Ward going at No. 1 overall, all the way to Kobee Minor, who went at the historic Mr. Irrelevant spot, at No. 257. Minor was the final pick of the 2025 NFL Draft.
The New England Patriots selected Minor at No. 257 in both the Patriots’ final pick of the draft and the final pick of the draft period. Minor joins New England as a cornerback from Memphis. So, who is this year’s Mr. Irrelevant, and what do you need to know about him?

Kobee Minor Named Mr. Irrelevant of the 2025 NFL Draft
Not many players who are picked last in an NFL Draft pan out in the NFL. There have only been two since the mid-2000s who stand above the crop. The Kansas City Chiefs extracted plenty of long-term value from kicker Ryan Succop, who was picked as Mr. Irrelevant in 2009.
More recently, the San Francisco 49ers selected Brock Purdy in 2022 in the Mr. Irrelevant spot. Purdy stepped in during a quarterback injury crisis and won the starting job. He led the 49ers to an NFC Championship game already in his young career.
So, while it’s not common, the Mr. Irrelevant spot can be just as important as any other spot in the NFL Draft.
So, who is Minor? Minor is a native of Dallas, TX. Minor spent his college career in three schools. His first two years were spent at Texas Tech. From there, Minor played his third college season at Indiana before transferring to Memphis for his fourth and final year.
Minor stands at 6 feet and 190 pounds. With Memphis in 2024, Minor recorded 37 tackles on 28 solos and nine assists. He defended six passes and even forced two fumbles.
Minor didn’t have an interception across his four years in college, which is not the best for a player at the cornerback position. However, he did pick up two sacks in 2024.
The final pick of the draft is very rarely a household name. However, Minor wasn’t expected to be that pick. Despite not being a household name yet, Minor has as good a chance as anyone to achieve that goal.

While it can be uncommon for Mr. Irrelevant to pan out, it’s worth noting that there has been success with the draft’s final pick, and Minor hopes to be yet another one.
