Who Are LSU’s Weeks Brothers? Everything You Need to Know About Whit, West, and Zach

It will be a rare occasion in college football history, as three brothers are on the same team at the same time. The LSU Tigers roster includes three Weeks brothers: Zach, Whit, and West.

This was possible after West redshirted last season due to injury and Zach reclassified for an earlier year, and he joined his brothers at Baton Rouge. Now, before they start the 2025 season on Saturday, let’s take a look at their backgrounds.

Everything to Know About the Weeks Brothers on LSU: Whit, West and Zach

The Weeks brothers hail from Watkinsville, Georgia. Their father, David Weeks, was a former University of Georgia offensive lineman. All three brothers are linebackers on the roster.

West is the eldest brother. He transferred from Virginia to LSU in 2022 to join his brother’s program. Last season, he used a redshirt to return for his fifth and final season in college. West once said that he has a telepathic communication with his other brother, Whit.

“Playing with Whit brings lots of joy. It kind of brings that kid type of joy back to the game knowing you’ve got your brother playing right beside you,” West Weeks said. “I can almost say what he’s going to say before he says it, and he can do the same for me, so we’ve been on the same page… We know if we’re communicating with each other, it’s going to trickle down to everybody else.”

Among all three, Whit, born in January 2005 and a 6′2″ sophomore linebacker at LSU, is the most accomplished linebacker. He enters the 2025 season as a preseason All-American. Last season, he amassed 125 tackles, ranking No. 2 in the SEC and going on to earn All-SEC honors. During the 2024 Texas Bowl, he suffered a gruesome ankle injury.

Meanwhile, Zach Weeks is a rising star, joining his other two brothers on the program, and in order to do so, he reclassified a year earlier. He measures 6′3″ and 230 lbs and is a four-star linebacker from Oconee County High School. He has impressive defensive stats as a junior: 112 tackles, 13 TFLs, and 4 sacks.

LSU defensive coordinator Blake Baker spoke highly of the trio of brothers. He said:

“They do everything the right way; they’re the type of guys you want your daughter to marry, and I don’t say that lightly, and I think those three guys are phenomenal young men.”

It remains to be seen if all three get to play in the same game together. That will be some history for the brothers.
