Meet the Sayins: Julian Sayins’ All-Star Support System

Julian Sayin was born to Karen Brandenburg and Dan Sayin in San Diego, and his family had football in their DNA from the start. His mom is a retired college athlete with a background now in business and discipline.

She also has organizational skills that come along with it in Julian’s life. His father was less in the limelight. He has been just as pivotal in getting a foundation into Julian’s sporting and mental advancement.

His mother’s parenting style trended toward structure and calm, a philosophy that Sayin internalized. In an On3 interview, she spoke of her son’s level-headed response to stress:

“He doesn’t like a lot of distractions. He can handle ups and downs. But he likes to be very organized, very structured in things around him and control what he can.”

Sayin’s older brother, Aidan, is the University of Pennsylvania’s starting quarterback. His sister, Bailey, was a soccer star at the University of Chicago. With an entire house full of jocks, the Sayins made their house a factory for greatness.

Even when Sayin signed with Alabama in high school, His parents were so committed to his path that they allegedly considered moving to be with him before he went on to Ohio State. Their faith in Julian’s journey has never wavered, and they’ve shown they’ll do whatever it takes—literally—to help him succeed.

Sayin’s Football Journey: From Cali Kid to Buckeye Phenom

The Ohio State quarterback started his football journey at Carlsbad High School in California. Initially, he settled behind his brother Aidan before he took over. It was not long before Julian stamped his authority.

As the first-string quarterback, he recorded mind-boggling statistics: more than 7,800 passing yards, 85 touchdowns, and just 10 interceptions in three years of varsity football.

His mechanics and composure earned him a five-star rating from top recruiting services, and he was listed among the top quarterbacks of the class of 2024. Sayin signed with the University of Alabama and was the final quarterback to be signed by legendary coach Nick Saban before he retired. However, following Saban’s departure, Sayin took a calculated shift.

He switched to Ohio State, a move that placed him in contention for one of the most sought-after quarterback spots in college football. In his early appearances as part of the Buckeyes in 2024, Julian contributed with only occasional action, throwing for 84 yards and a touchdown. However, his coaches and fans soon identified the poise and potential he had to offer.
