Landry Kiffin’s BF Whit Weeks Drops Blunt 3-Word Message as LSU Parts Ways With Brian Kelly

In a shocking move, LSU has reportedly fired head coach Brian Kelly after a disappointing season for the Tigers, which are usually considered contenders but have already dropped to 5-3 in the season. With his firing, several LSU players have shown their respects to their now-former coach, including linebacker Whit Weeks, who is dating Ole Miss head coach lane Kiffin’s daughter, Landry.

Weeks posted a photo on his Instagram Stories and his “band of brothers” in solidarity with Kelly.

    “Band of Brothers,” he wrote.

The team lost to Texas A&M last Saturday, with the Aggies beating the Tigers convincingly at 25-49. The Tigers did not just drop to 5-3 overall, but also 2-3 in the SEC, and this latest defeat led to fans calling for Brian kelly to be fired, which he eventually was.

As for Whit Weeks, the LSU linebacker sat out that loss to the Aggies as he was still injured. This was the second game he missed, as he also missed the previous week’s game against Vanderbilt, which the Tigers also lost. He is reportedly suffering from a bone bruise in his ankle and has been walking around with a boot. Still, his girlfriend has his full support, as she was seen wearing an LSU jersey despite being the Ole Miss coach’s kid.

Brian Kelly and LSU Still Negotiating Buyout After He Got Fired

Before getting fired, Brian Kelly signed a 10-year, $100 million contract back in 2022. with his official buyout being over $50 million. This would be much higher than what Penn State will be paying James Franklin when they fired him earlier this month, so LSU wants to negotiate.

Negotiations between both sides are still going on, though the school is still expected to pay a lot of money as Kelly still has a lot in his contract.

There were reports that Kelly was fired after Saturday’s loss, and it was LSU athletic director Scott Woodward who officially revealed that the reports were true on Sunday. Here is his official statement:

“When Coach Kelly arrived at LSU four years ago, we had high hopes that he would lead us to multiple SEC and national championships during his time in Baton Rouge,” the LSU AD said. “Ultimately, the success at the level that LSU demands simply didn’t materialize.”

For now, Frank Wilson, who served as Brian Kelly’s assistant coach with the Tigers, will be the one serving as interim coach as the school searches for a more permanent replacement.
